Mary Jo Ross, CSEP, CPCE

Dr. Ross, a leading academic expert in the field of special events and catering; a Certified Special Event Professional (CSEP) and a Certified Professional Catering Executive (CPCE) started at UCF in 2001.

Dr. Ross has worked for Universal Orlando as a multi-unit restaurant manager, Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and the City of Pittsburgh over her 28 years of professional life and holds a Ph.D. in Education for Instructional Systems Technology and M.A. in Adult and Community Education.

Dr. Ross attended Penn State University and was Attaché to the Walter Conti Endowment in the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management and grant project manager and expert for Department of Nutrition’s program development of public schools’ foodservice operations.
Dr. Ross served Rosen College as Director of Events 2005-2009 and currently teaches Restaurant and Lodging Management at UCF main campus, while serving several hospitality Boards of Directors and special events projects.
